BAE Systems is an international company engaged in the development, delivery and support of advanced defence and aerospace systems in the air, on land, at sea and in space. The company designs, manufactures and supports military aircraft, surface ships, submarines, fighting vehicles, radar, avionics, communications, electronics and guided weapon systems. It is a pioneer in technology with a heritage stretching back hundreds of years. It is at the forefront of innovation, working to develop the next generation of intelligent defence systems.
Black Coral is a pioneer in geospatial data fusion. Black Coral LIVE is a new class of application based on distributed client technology, providing personalized ready-to-use geospatial information to decision makers. Black Coral technology puts power in the hands of the users working in ad hoc connectivity conditions. The product provides discovery, access, fusion, management and dissemination of geospatial information within a secure collaborative environment. Using open standards and published proprietary standards, Black Coral LIVE fuses digital maps, space-borne classified and commercial imagery, intelligence, sensor feeds, and live updates on weather changes or location to create a common situation picture. The situation picture datasets assembled by analysts or experts on the team are shared in near-real time with all team members as role-based views.
PDT by IDELIX was integrated into Black Coral LIVE for the Joint Warrior Interoperability Demonstration (JWID) 2004. PDT's multi-layer viewing functionality enables Black Coral LIVE users to isolate an area of interest with the PDT lens and drill down through layers of fused data using scale-dependent rendering.

One of the first GIS companies to incorporate PDT within their mapping software was
Boeing S&IS Mission Systems (formerly Boeing Autometric). S&IS Mission Systems provides the subject matter expertise, technical excellence, and operational experience required to lead Boeing's effort to support the horizontal integration of the Intelligence Community (IC). They are organized, not by customer, but by capability to provide the NGA, CIA, DIA and NSA an enterprise level approach to global situational awareness, content management and knowledge capture. Their architectural solutions facilitate the seamless integration of military and intelligence missions by leveraging open standards and commercial technology.
IDELIX entered into a licensing agreement to provide Boeing's mapping customers with technology that improves the efficiency of softcopy production systems. PDT was embedded within the April 2002 releases of KDSP and Softplotter providing improved vector collection performance for users of Boeing's stereo systems. The agreement leverages Boeing Autometric's proven commercial stereo mapping software and IDELIX's Pliable Display Technology (PDT) for Autometric's customers in remote sensing, GIS and photogrammetry.
PDT Case Study
Boeing Autometric customer indicates 20% increase in productivity with PDT
